Products & Care
-
Our woven blankets are made from premium acrylic fibres.
We choose acrylic for its durability, easy care, colour retention, and long-lasting comfort. Unlike wool and other animal fibres, acrylic does not contain lanolin and is often preferred by those who find wool products itchy or irritating.
Acrylic is also machine washable, resistant to shrinking, naturally resistant to damage from moths, and more resistant to mildew and mold than many natural fibres.
Every fibre has its strengths, and we believe premium acrylic offers an ideal balance of comfort, practicality, and longevity for everyday use.
-
Our woven blankets are produced by trusted manufacturing partners in Ecuador. Many of our designs are created in collaboration with Canadian artists and our Ecuadorian partners. Select products, such as our Adventure Blankets, are designed in Canada and manufactured overseas.
-
Heartprint Threads products are designed in Canada and produced by carefully selected manufacturing partners around the world. Product-specific origin information can be found on each product page.
-
Our blankets are made to be enjoyed and don't require frequent washing. When a wash is needed, most woven blankets can be machine washed in cold water on a gentle cycle and hung to dry or tumble dried on low heat.
With proper care, your blanket can remain a well-loved companion for many years.
-
Yes. Because our blankets are woven textiles, you may notice minor variations in colour, weave, texture, or professionally repaired threads. Minor shedding may also occur, particularly during the first uses and washes. These characteristics are normal and do not affect the durability or performance of your blanket
-
No. Our woven blankets are made from premium acrylic fibres, and we believe customers deserve clear and accurate information about the materials they're purchasing.
Genuine alpaca and wool fibres typically command significantly higher material costs than acrylic. If a blanket is advertised as alpaca or wool, we encourage customers to look for clear fibre content disclosures and ask questions if the materials are not explicitly stated.
At Heartprint Threads, we clearly identify the materials used in every product so you can shop with confidence.
-
Our woven blankets are made from premium acrylic fibres, not wool or alpaca. While natural fibres have their own advantages, they can also feel itchy or irritating to some people.
Acrylic is often chosen for its durability, easy care, colour retention, and comfortable feel against the skin. If you're comparing different blanket materials, it's important to remember that each fibre has its own texture, weight, and characteristics.
Comfort is personal, and every individual experiences fabrics differently.
-
Do not pull the thread. In most cases, a loose thread can simply be tucked back into the weave. If you have concerns about your blanket, please contact us and we'd be happy to help.
-
We focus on thoughtful design, durable construction, and meaningful impact. Many of our products are created in collaboration with artists and manufacturing partners who share our values, and every purchase helps support our Warm for All blanket donation program.
Giving Back
-
Through our Warm for All program, every eligible blanket purchased helps provide warmth to someone in need.
We work with community organizations to provide new blankets that best fit the needs of the people they serve. Depending on the situation, this may include emergency blankets, children's blankets, single blankets, double blankets, birthing blankets for new mothers, first-home blankets for families starting over, welcome-home blankets for individuals and families new to Canada, blankets for shelters and outreach programs, and programs supporting vulnerable youth, LGBTQ+ individuals, and others facing challenging circumstances.
By working closely with our community partners, we're able to direct warmth where it can make the greatest impact.
At Heartprint Threads, we believe warmth means more than comfort—it can mean feeling welcome, supported, and at home. click here for more info!
